Jonas Thorir was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, on 28 March 1956 to violinist Jonas Thorir Dagbjartsson and his wife Ingrid Kristjansdottir (Hansen-Skoglund) piano teacher and seamstress.
Jonas Thorir began playing the violin at a young age. Eight years old he began attending Reykjavik Music School studying the violin with concertmaster Bjorn Olafsson. Jonas Thorir was introduced to the organ at a young age which commanded his interest and attention. He thus quit his violin studies and gave the organ his full attention.
Jonas Thorir completed his choirmaster’s examination on the organ with Bjorn Steinar Solbergsson and completed his choir conductor’s studies with Hordur Askelsson. He also studied piano with Halldor Haraldsson and composition with Atli Heimir Sveinsson.
He studied with Karsten Askeland in Bergen and has attended masterclasses with numerous organists around the world and also with choir conductor.
He has contributed numerous compositions in a variety of stiles and types for the theater, television and more. He is married to Rosa Einarsdottir and they have 6 children and 2 grandchildren.

Gunnar Kristinn Óskarsson started playing the trumpet at the age of six in his local school band under the guidance of Bjarni Guðmundsson and later Oddur Björnsson. After that he was accepted to Reykjavík College of Music and spent the next five years studying with Eiríkur Örn Pálsson and Ásgeir H. Steingrímsson for the last year. In 2018 he moved to Copenhagen and started at The Royal Danish Academy of music where he is currently studying, starting his second year of his Master's degree under the guidance of Nikolaj Viltoft and Jonas Højen Wiik.
Gunnar has played with many orchestras in his career, such as The Royal Danish Orchestra, Det Slesvigske Musikkorps, Malmö Sinfonietta and as a soloist with The Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
Gunnar is also an active member of the chamber music scene both in Denmark and Iceland in groups such as The North Atlantic Brass, Kvartettinn Málmur and the chamber orchestra Elja.
Gunnar has for many years performed music with Jónas Þórir in Bústaðakirkja.
