Eyþór Ingi Jónsson and Jón Þorsteinn Reynisson present a unique musical dialogue between organ and accordion.
Eyþór Ingi Jónsson completed his cantor’s diploma from the Church of Iceland Music School in 1998, studying under Hörður Áskelsson and others. From 1999 to 2007, he studied at the School of Music in Piteå, Sweden—first in the church music department and later in the concert organ department. His main organ teacher was Professor Hans-Ola Ericsson, and his choral conducting professor was Erik Westberg. He also attended masterclasses and private lessons with many of the most renowned organists and choir conductors of our time.
He regularly teaches courses and gives lectures. Eyþór has given numerous solo recitals both in Iceland and abroad, and he has performed with many Icelandic and international musicians in concerts and recordings.
His first solo album, Septim, was released in 2021, and his next solo album is set to be released this autumn.
Eyþór has performed as an organ soloist with both the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Michael Jón Clarke’s Project Orchestra, and has also conducted both ensembles.
Jón Þorsteinn Reynisson, accordionist, began his music studies at the Music School of Skagafjörður under Stefán Gíslason. He later studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen under Geir Draugsvoll and Andreas Borregaard, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2015 and a master’s degree in 2018. In 2022, he completed an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma from the same institution—the highest level of music education in Denmark.
In recent years, Jón has participated in a wide range of musical projects and is active in several ensembles that regularly work on new material. These include Tríó Mýr, ítríó, Hnoðri í Norðri, and Tríó Akureyrar. Each of these groups has its own unique character and repertoire, ranging from contemporary music to folk music, pop, theatre, and opera. Since 2024, Jón has also served as the conductor of the men’s choir Karlakórinn Heimir.
