Hallgrímskirkja – Pink October 2025

In the month of October, Hallgrímskirkja is illuminated in pink in solidarity with the heroes who have been diagnosed with cancer and in support of raising awareness about prevention and early detection.

Pink October is an annual campaign by the Icelandic Cancer Society that reminds us of the importance of taking care of our health, showing compassion, and supporting those who are facing the disease. This year, The Pink Day will be on Wednesday, October 22.

At Hallgrímskirkja, it is close to our hearts to support this beautiful and important cause. The church’s light carries a message of hope, warmth, and love — a symbol of unity and faith in life.

We encourage visitors and passers-by to pause for a moment, look up at the pink glow, and let hope shine through the darkness.
