Ágúst Ingi Ágústsson completed his cantor degree from the National Church Music School in Iceland (Tónskóli Þjóðkirkjunnar) in 1998, where Hörður Áskelsson was his main teacher. In 2008, he completed a performance / soloist course on the organ at the same school, also with Hörður as his teacher. In the winter of 2000-2001, he attended organ lessons with prof. Hans-Ola Ericsson in Piteå, Sweden. Last June Ágúst graduated from the church music course at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where he studied, among other things, organ performance with Eythór Ingi Jónsson and choir direction with Magnús Ragnarsson. Ágúst has conducted the ensemble Cantores Islandiae since the group was founded in 2018. He worked as an organist at the Catholic church in Hafnarfjörður in 1993–2000 and was the conductor of the Gregorian choir Cantores Iutlandiae in Denmark in 2011–2017. Apart from music, Ágúst works as a doctor.
