Henrik Skærbæk Jespersen is the cathedral organist and Director of Music at Haderslev Cathedral. In addition to his work as an organist, he is also the founder and conductor of Haderslev Boys Choir, and the artistic director of Haderslev Singing Academy, which is based on the sprawling and extensive choir work and ambience at the cathedral. The Singing Academy counts about 200 singers.
Henrik Skærbæk Jespersen is a graduate from Vestjysk Musikkonservatorium (the Academy of Church Music) and took over the post as cathedral organist in 2011, at the age of 31 years. He has taken further studies under the supervision of Hans Fagius and participated in masterclasses with leading organists from all over Europe.
As a soloist he has played organ recitals in several European countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, England and Scotland.
In 2020 Henrik received a big price of honour from the Foundation of Frobenius (organ builder) of 250.000 DKR (EUROs 33.500) for his work with church music.
