Christmas Organ Concert

 

Celebrate the Second Day of Christmas with a festive and atmospheric organ concert in Hallgrímskirkja. Björn Steinar Sólbergsson performs a rich programme of joyful and reflective Christmas works by Bach, D’Aquin, Guilmant and Vierne, as well as brand-new Icelandic compositions receiving their world premiere.

The concert features two world premieres by Hrafnkell Orri Egilsson. Fantasy on the Icelandic carol “Með gleðiraust og helgum hljóm” and Chaconne on the Icelandic carol “Hátíð fer að höndum ein”.

 

The programme also includes his Pastorale on the hymn “Nóttin var sú ágæt ein” (2022) by the same composer..

 

This concert is the perfect way to embrace the peace and beauty of the Christmas season.
