Lessons and carols

Lessons and carols

You are warmly invited to join in congregational singing, choral music, and readings on Sunday, December 21 at 5:00 PM in Hallgrímskirkja.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome while space allows.

The tradition of “Lessons and carols” is well known in England and across the Nordic countries. It offers churchgoers the opportunity to prepare for the Christmas season by singing many of the most beloved Christmas hymns and enjoying beautiful choral music.

The Hallgrímskirkja Choir, the Reykjavík Cathedral Choir, and the Chamber Choir Huldur will perform and lead the congregational singing, conducted by Steinar Logi Helgason, Matthías Harðarson, and Hreiðar Ingi Þorsteinsson. Organist is Björn Steinar Sólbergsson.

Pastors from the participating congregations will take part in the concert with readings from Scripture.
