Annunciation of Mary

Evening Singing with the Hallgrímskirkja Choir

The Annunciation is also often called the Marian Mass. The Gospel of the Annunciation tells of when the archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary in Nazareth to deliver a message from God that she would give birth to the son of God, and call him Jesus, nine months before Christmas.

On this occasion, Hallgrímskirkja is offering an evening singing (evensong) with the Hallgrímskirkja Choir, where two new choral works will be premiered: Magnificat by Tryggvi M. Baldvinsson for choir, organ and solo voice and Salve Regina by Þóra Marteinsdóttir for a capella choir.

Performers:

Hallgrímskirkja Choir

Steinar Logi Helgason, manager

Bjorn Steinar Solbergsson, organ

The session will last about an hour in total.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
