Confirmation Class 2026 - 2027
This fall, confirmation classes will begin in Hallgrímskirkja, intended for 8th grade children who are considering, or have decided to, be confirmed in the spring of 2027.
The winter before confirmation is an exciting time in the lives of young people and their families. During this important time of formation, the church invites you to talk about faith, life views and happiness. Confirmation education is open to all young people in the eighth grade of elementary school and especially to children living in the Central City and Hlíðarendahverfi neighborhoods.
The education emphasizes diverse and fun Christian education through conversations and experiences. The education emphasizes friendship, respect, and open-mindedness. The young people participate in several masses. An adventure trip to Vatnaskógur is underway. The fundamentals of the Christian faith and Icelandic cultural heritage will be taught.
An introduction meeting will be held in the beginning of September 2026.
Confirmation Day in Hallgrímskirkja 2027
The planned confirmation date in the spring of 2026 is Sunday, April 4th at 11:00 AM.

The price for the course is 26.881 ISK and includes tuition during the winter.
Confirmation students choose a memory verse for their confirmation ceremony. They may choose the Bible verse that is most meaningful to them.
