Steinar Logi

Steinar Logi Helgason studied piano at the Reykjavík School of Music, the New School of Music and the Reykjavík School of Music. He began his studies at the National Church Music School in 2010 and took a church organist's degree there, but later completed a bachelor's degree from the church music program at the Iceland Academy of the Arts under the supervision of Björn Steinar Sólbergsson. Steinar Logi studied conducting for a master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen and graduated from there at the end of 2020. He has conducted numerous choirs and worked widely as an organist, pianist and conductor. He was nominated for the Icelandic Music Prize in 2021 along with the Cantoque Ensemble as musical group of the year in the classical and contemporary music category. Steinar Logi took up the position of choir director of Hallgrímskirkja in the fall of 2021.
