Harmony of Generations: Hildur Guðnadóttir and Jón Nordal
The Hallgrímskirkja Choir concert at the Reykjavík Arts Festival will bring together two influential composers, on the one hand Hildur Guðnadóttir, the Festival's Artist of the Year, and on the other hand Jón Nordal, who would have turned 100 in the spring of 2026.
The concert will feature several of Hildur's works that she has composed for choir, along with Jón's masterpiece, Óttusöngvar á vori (1993) for choir, soprano, countertenor, organ, cello and percussion. Performers include soloist Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir and conductor Steinar Logi Helgason.
