 Eyþór Franzson Wechner was born in Akranes and began studying the organ at the age of 14, first with Úlrik Ólason and later with Björn Steinar Sólbergsson at the National Church Music School and the Iceland University of the Arts.

 After two years of study in Iceland, Eythór continued his education in Germany. At the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig, he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in organ performance in 2012 and a Master of Arts degree in 2014. His principal teacher in Leipzig was Professor Stefan Engels.

 Eythór currently serves as organist at Blönduós Church and surrounding parishes, and he teaches at the Music School of Austur-Húnavatnssýsla and the National Church Music School. He has performed solo concerts in Iceland, Germany, Lithuania, and Australia.
