Lessons & carols/ Community Singing, Choral Music and Readings

Lessons & Carols at Hallgrímskirkja.

You are warmly invited to a community sing-along, choral music and readings on Sunday, December 20 at 5:00 pm at Hallgrímskirkja.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome, while space allows.

Lessons & Carols is a well-loved tradition in England and throughout the Nordic countries. It offers visitors a chance to prepare for Christmas by singing many of their best-loved carols and enjoying beautiful choral music.

The Hallgrímskirkja Choir and the Hamrahlíð College Choir join forces this year to sing and lead the community singing, conducted by Steinar Logi Helgason and Hreiðar Ingi Þorsteinsson. Björn Steinar Sólbergsson and Matthías Harðarson will play the Klais-organ and the Frobenius Choir Organ.

The parish clergy will take part in the concert with readings from scripture.
